• What genre is the trailer?

The genre of our trailer is action thriller.

"Thriller is a broad genre of literature, film, and television programming that uses suspense, tension and excitement as its main elements. Thrillers heavily stimulate the viewer's moods, giving them a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, surprise, anxiety and/or terror. Films of this genre tend to be adrenaline rushing, gritty, rousing and fast-paced"

• What sort of trailer will it be?

The trailer will be a full trailer, around 2-3 minutes long and will be suitable for audiences that are aged 15 and above. It will be an action-thriller trailer that will begin to plan out the plot for the entire movie, however this will be done through the means of a one person narrative; much like the finished film.

• Where will it be shown?

The trailer will be shown in various places. The main area it will be shown is through social networking sites. We will be ensuring that we can make best use of manipulating sites like Youtube and Twitters easy advertising; in an attempt to gain fans of the trailer.

• What is the target audience for this trailer.

Because our trailer is of action thriller genre, it does not have a defintitive target audience; it can only be catgorised as the people who like it and people who don't. However we have decided to focus on the age group 15-50 because they are most likely to enjoy action-thrillers. We have decided to create a trailer that is suitable for viewers aged 15 and up, because this means we can target a wider audience.

• How does this relate to the target audience for the film itself?

Although our trailer will be suitable for people aged 15 and up, it is likely that the actual film is for people aged 18 and up, simply because it allows us to create a plot that is seen as more 'horrific.' 

• What key genre elements will be employed?

We are including a lot of different video effects within our trailer, like the CCTV effect. We will be sure to only use basic yet effective techniques because we do not have the facilities or equipment to create a large explosion for example; however gun fire is possible and will be used for added viewing entertainment. We will also incorporate strange looking masks so an eery and mysterious atmosphere prevails.  

• What will be the key point for the trailer?

Rebelling against a government or to 'revolt' 

• What ideology will the trailer establish?

Ideas that arise from the trailer include the power the government actually has, isolation, madness and also the people fighting back. This 'revolt' perhaps gives the viewers a sense of community and togetherness, against the oppressor.

• What will be the marketing points for the film (e.g. stars, director, themes, etc.)

The marketing points will be things like a great story, and viewers will be able to notice progression throughout the trailer; they will be able to see a mini plot inside the trailer. The film may be successful because it promotes an idea that is perhaps going to happen at some point in the future; and this is intended to frighten and worry viewers.
